UPS Drivers Have A Facebook Group About Dogs They Meet On Their Routes, And It Will Make Your Day

It all started in 2013 when UPS driver Sean McCarren created a Facebook group to pay tribute to their furry friends who add smiles and sunshine to even the dullest of days.  Not surprisingly, the group grew in leaps and bounds and UPS Dogs now has over 1.5 million likes on Facebook and 543K followers on Instagram.

You won’t just find adorable pups on the feed either, drivers are met with a host of different creatures on their delivery stops, such as squirrels, raccoons, deer, geese, goats, sheep, chickens, cats and the odd alpaca or two. Of course, the drivers can’t resist taking pictures of their animals friends along their route, and their furry or feathered friends know their schedules and seem to be waiting for them to arrive.

“When you’re running into dogs all the time, it creates a bond when you see them every day,” McCarren told HuffPost. “It’s cool to meet some of the same dogs on the route, because they know who you are and they are excited to see you.”

According to McCarren, the page’s success lies in its positive appeal. “There’s no views of what people think about this or that, just dogs and an occasional cat, donkey, turtle or bird.”

“This page also shows the relationship we have with the community and the impact we have on other people’s families. It also shows how awesome the drivers are,” he added.

UPS admires the likes the page too, according to a spokesperson who said, “It’s a good example of the relationships our employees build with their customers, two- or four-legged!”
