Shaquille O’Neal Is A Big Man With A Big Heart
There’s no denying that Big Shaq is a great human being. From his multiple charitable donations to his random acts of kindness to any stranger he would find, Shaquille O’Neal has placed himself in a niche in this society. He knows how it feels to come from nothing, and he embraces the possibility of giving back to society. There are multiple instances, videos and narratives of him offering to buy people things, or leaving giant tips in restaurants, and one such incident occurred in the wake of Kobe Bryant’s demise.

Shaquille O’Neal was in Georgia, at a Best Buy store on the 30th of January, when a couple of guys came up to him and gave their condolences on the demise of both Bryant, and Shaq’s sister, who died of cancer. This was a very kind gesture in a world where people would have simply asked for a picture and moved on. Needless to say, Shaquille O’Neal was touched. Imagine being the guy- Patrick Martin- who was simply displaying basic humanity. Then one of the NBA legends comes up and tells you that he likes you. He also offers to buy you your laptop. Surreal, isn’t it?
And that wasn’t a troll offer. Big Shaq really was serious about it, for when Patrick bought his Microsoft Surface laptop, Shaquille O’Neal paid for it. We reiterate, it was needless of the basketball legend to buy anything for the man- but it was Shaquille’s innate benevolence which led him to do so.
We have forever spoken about celebrities who don’t give their fans the time of the day. But here is a legend that always cares about his fans even when distressed. This period of time has been quite distressing for Shaquille O’Neal. He lost his sister last year, and now his ‘brother’- enough to rattle anyone.

Kobe was so much more than an athlete, he was a family man. That was what we had most in common. We love our families. Whenever we got together I would hug his children like they were my own and he would embrace my kids like they were his. His baby girl Gianna was born on the same day as my youngest daughter Me’Arah. I miss you already brother. This is truly unbelievable. Everyone please keep the Bryant’s in your prayers. R.I.P

Patrick wrote about this incident on Facebook, which went viral within a few hours. With it, came a whole outpouring of messages from people commenting on Shaquille O Neal’s kind nature. This week had been one of the worst in his life. He took to social media to talk about how devastated he was on the loss of someone he saw as a brother. He recollected several memories of Kobe and himself and could identify with the loss that Kobe’s wife felt.
He simply asked people all around the world to pray for the Bryants. For they needed them.
Shaquille O’Neal is a human with integrity. From making a name for himself out of nothing, he has shown the world that celebrities need not be snobbish to the general population. This is in accordance with several interviews where he has mentioned that the fans spend their hard-earned money on them. The least they can do is spend some time with them.
