These Best Friends Of 78 Years Just Moved Into The Same Care Home & They Are Having The Best Time

Not all too often, we meet someone who we just click with, it’s an instant and ever-long friendship that you just know will last a life time. It’s even more rare to not drift apart as you get older, and somehow stay in one another’s lives. It’s tricky once we start our own families and careers.

This story is proof of these rare friendships existing, because these two woman have kept their bond for nearly 80 years and now live in the same care home together. If this isn’t friendship goals, we don’t know what is!

Olive And Kathleen are those two ladies, being bet friends for 78 years after meeting when they were 11 years old. They sat next to one another at Ravenshead School in Nottingham back in 1941!

Not only did they go to school together, but they lived down the road from one another as well. Somehow, family life did not cause them to drift apart, and their husbands worked together at the same company, causing them to live near to one another again. Keeping close was easy, and so they stuck together all these years.

In 1989, Kathleen sadly lost her husband and then lived alone. Last year she moved to Berry Hill Park care home. Olives husband lived 15 years longer than Kathleen’s and passed on in 2004. Eventually, she too moved in with Kathleen at the Mansfield care home. They live in the same house and get to spend unlimited time with one another.

Both 89 years old, they are the oldest residents at Berry Hill Park. They say that their secret to an everlasting friendship is telling it like it is and never arguing.

Together, the adorable pair of friends sometimes get up to mischief.

Kathleen says; “We sometimes have to knock the staff into shape. I just raced one of the managers down the hallway for a laugh. I’m so glad Olive is here now, we’re like giggling schoolgirls and we still put on our lippy and get dressed up. We always say to each other ‘if you’ve got it, flaunt it.’
